Neoreal

Milan Design Week 2008

Design: Hikaru Mori
Location: La Triennale di Milano
Developer: ICET Studios

Exhibition concept

The exhibition evolves around the notions of time, instant of reproduction, need of confirmation, ideas that are incidental to human nature through past, present and future.
Human evolution, better, the process that leads to evolution, is the engine for progress, to make a search for new expressive languages, for new experiences. The NEOREAL exhibition wants to be all of that: reproduction, but also the confirmation and attainment of a new knowledge and ability through an infinite seek, towards new motivation forces and new creative outlets and at the same time source of wellbeing.

Neoreal

Vanguard and culture, innovation and art, that is how Canon digital colour printer technology interact with space, time, everyday life: NEOREAL, a brand new dimension, a brand new sensitivity, a brand new way to feel and to introduce itself to Salone del Mobile audience, so interested and sensitive to the birth of new communicative languages.

The heritage: like folding screens, fusuma sliding doors are an example of painting art and, in a more general sense, of japanese cultural background. For this exhibition we chose three replicas of important traditional artworks, shown for the first time outside Japan, reproduced thanks to Canon technology for the Tsuzuri project, an important iniziative that wants to preserve cultural heritage.

Ikasu

Expressive strenghtening: the brand new canon printer becomes the star of a multisensory installation, designed by the fashion designer Tamae Hirokawa with the architect Junya Ishigami.

Waza

Three moments of exhibition

The art of technology: room dedicated to the introduction and show of high precision color management technology, called Kyuanos, developed by Canon.
